FAQ
Job Seekers
Q: There are other job posting sites we can visit. Why WorkingCouples.com?
A: Because all of our jobs are for couples! We maintain the largest one-source job bank with jobs specifically for couples. You could spend time other sites, but if you want a "job for two" why not go to the best source?
Q: There are tons of jobs posted on the internet. Why don't I just surf the web for couples jobs?
A: Again, we already maintain the largest source of jobs specifically for couples. Our daily email service is totally FREE! We post thousands of jobs per year. How much is your time worth?
Q: How soon after I subscribe will I start receiving the newest jobs by email?
A: Normally you will start receiving the email updates within a day or two.
Q: I see that I can browse jobs. Why shouldn't I just come back and check your website periodically for new jobs?
A: You can! However, if you subscribe to the email updates you will receive a daily update via email that will prevent you from having to keep checking for new positions. This is for people who feel that the daily delivery of all the newest jobs is a better system. You can also now use our RSS feed system, if you want the newest jobs fed to your RSS reader.
Q: What type of applicants are employers normally looking for?
A: All kinds! Of course the traditional husband/wife teams, but also parent/child, friend/friend, significant others. The most important aspect is a good fit. Don't be shy about applying for positions you feel you are qualified for.
Q: Where can we expect the positions to be located geographically?
A: Anywhere in the world. Eventually you will see positions from every continent (well‚ maybe not Antarctica!). You might be inclined to take a job in the sunny Caribbean, or you may even apply for a job that doesn't require you to even relocate.
Q: I am applying for a job in another country. How do I know what the visa/passport requirements will be?
A: That is a question for the employer to answer, as every country has it's own laws and rules.
Q: I posted a resume on your website. Where is it?
A: Resumes are only visible to registered users. When a user is logged in, they will see a menu item on the left side of the screen that says "View Resumes". Click there and you will see the posted resumes. Soon employers will be able to search resumes by the type of job desired, as well as by location. (UPDATE: Resumes can be searched or browsed by job type or location or keyword now. You also don't have to be logged in to view resumes now, either!)
Employers:
Q: Is there any cost associated with this service?
A: There is absolutely no cost for employers to list job openings! This valuable service is absolutely FREE to you (Unless you wish to have premium placement - Click Here For Details). Your free posting is not guaranteed to run for any particular length of time. If you need it to run longer, consider our low-cost premium placement service.
Q: How do I receive applications from job-seekers?
A: We will pass on whatever contact information you provide for us (mail address, fax or phone, email, website, etc.)
Q: Can you protect my privacy? We would prefer not to be overrun with applicants calling us, etc.
A: If you request, we will not release your contact information to applicants. Just let us know when you post the position that you want to remain anonymous.
Q: What happens when my position is filled?
A: All you need to do is login to remove your listing. Or you can let us know when you have filled the position. We will immediately tag that position as filled, so you don't continue to receive applications (unless you wish to).
Q: Where do I view resumes of job-seeking couples?
A: In order to view resumes of job-seeking couples, you must first be a registered user (free and easy). Once registered, simply log in and you will see a menu to the left of the screen with your user name at the head of the menu. In that menu, you will see a menu item called "View Resumes". Click there and you can peruse resumes. (UPDATE: You do not have to log in to browse or search resumes now!)
